HARLEY DAVIDSON COMING TO INDIA IN 2010

Harley Davidson, the world's most famous bike manufacturer is planning to enter the Indian markets. The company plans to introduce the brand in India in 2010. The Harley Davidson officials had been visiting India since 2006 to check out the possibilities in the Indian markets.

Presently, Harley Davidson doesn't have any presence in the Indian market. The company plans to introduce bikes in the range Rs.4 lakh to 14 lakh in the Indian markets. But currently the company isn't establishing any production plants in India.

In Harley Davidson vice president Timothy Hoetler's words, "India is among the few motorcycle markets in the world that is growing at a fast pace and we are surely looking at a presence here. Whenever we enter the Indian market, it will be through the sourcing route. Harley Davidson buyers identify our bikes to be an all-American brand and they want to buy the bikes that are produced in US."
